n.o.t.e

A collaborative web editor for osu!taiko

Accessible for All

n.ot.e is available as an installation-free browser app, or a standalone app for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS, if you’d like to use more advanced features like offline usage, native audio backend, and saving directly to your .osu.

It’s the same editor on desktop, tablet or phone, and you can fully operate it with mouse, pen, or touchscreen.

Collab Together

Work on maps together with your friends in real time. It’s fully peer-to-peer, so nothing is ever uploaded to a server.

To get started, load a map, then invite a friend with the + button in the top-right.

Parametric SV

n.ot.e has its own extensible expression language, which can be applied using Transforms. You can even stack Transforms for nested operations, making complex SV simple and organized.

You can also write your own SV functions. Open the View Menu > SV Globals, and press ? for reference.

Timing Made Easy

Time maps quickly and accurately, down to the millisecond, with helpful analysis tools like spectrogram, onsets, and waveform visualizations.

Now you can adjust complex red lines without worrying about breaking your map. By turning on Maintain Selected Beats, Maintain Prior Beats, Maintain Hit Objects, and Maintain SVs, notes stay snapped, barlines stay correct, and SV multipliers are rescaled automatically.

Multi-Difficulty Editing

Open several difficulties at once to check the spread, or to reference an existing difficulty while you map.

Open the difficulty selector (Ctrl+O), then add difficulties with the + button, or Ctrl+click to toggle them.

In-Editor Testplay

Testplay (F5) plays your map exactly as the game will, without leaving the editor. Play it yourself or watch Autoplay. Judgement and scoring match osu!stable.

Press F1 for gameplay mods.

Beatmap Discussion Integration

The Modding view (F9) shows your map’s osu! discussion posts right on the timeline.

Paired with the browser extension, you can write them from n.ot.e too. They appear as a draft in the osu! website’s review box.

Structured Patterning

With Linked Paste (Ctrl+Shift+V), you can create instances of patterns that keep a permanent reference to the original.

Change the source and every instance updates; change one instance and only that one changes. Each copy shows how it has been changed from the original, and relationships like Abekobe and Reverse carry through.

Sounds Cool?

Then give it a try! Standalone builds for Windows, macOS, Linux, Android, and iOS can be found in the web app’s About page.

Thank you for the tremendous feedback and ideas! ❤️
